It exists to help people discover how to live life to the fullest, by knowing God, developing community and bringing hope to the whole world.

History

Early History

On September 13, 1982, a senior leader of the C&MA's Metropolitan District presented a proposal to minister in the Princeton, NJ area by planting a church in the Route 1 corridor. The C&MA approved the proposal, and in November that year, commissioned a pastor to head The New church.

The church held its first meeting on March 6, 1983 at the conference center of a local hotel. Fifty-three visitors attended this first meeting.

Princeton Alliance Church was formally organized on October 13, 1983, with the installation of its first pastor.

Time of Transition

Between 1983 and 1989 the church continued to grow, moving quickly from place to place. It first gathered in homes throughout the Princeton area, followed by Princeton High School's main auditorium, and even the Bristol Chapel of Westminster Choir College.

After a series of failed attempts between 1986 and 1989 to purchase land for a new building of their own, the church applied to the New Jersey Department Of Transportation for permission to occupy a vacant NJDOT building at 4315 Route 1, Monmouth Junction, NJ. Although the church only intended to be there for two years, it ended up leasing the facility for nearly nine years. Average attendance during this time was approximately 350.

In February 1990, the church's founding pastor resigned. Robert Cushman, who previously served the church as Christian Education Pastor, agreed to fill the role as Senior Pastor, first as an interim measure, then officially.

New Home

On November 2, 1997, Princeton Alliance Church broke ground for its new home at the crossroads of Scudders Mill and Schalks Crossing Road. The church moved into its new facility in Plainsboro in 1999.

Cushman continued to lead the church until his resignation in September 2005. In October 2006, after a year of prayer, Boyd Hannold, previously the Small Groups Pastor, began his service as the church's new Senior Pastor.
