Prince Pedro Carlos of Orléans-Braganza
Prince Pedro Carlos of Orléans-Braganza (born October 31, 1945) is one of the two claimants to the Brazilian throne, and the head of the Petrópolis branch of the Brazilian Imperial House.
Pedro Carlos was born at Rio de Janeiro, the eldest son of Prince Pedro Gastão of Orléans-Braganza and of his wife Princess Maria de la Esperanza of the Two Sicilies. He was baptised with the names Pedro de Alcântara Carlos João Lourenço Miguel Rafael Gabriel Gonzaga.
On September 2, 1975, at Petrópolis, Pedro Carlos married Rony Kuhn de Souza (March 20, 1938 - January 14, 1979). They had one son:
- Prince Pedro Thiago of Orléans-Braganza (born January 12, 1979).
Pedro Carlos's wife Rony died two days after the birth of their son.
On July 16, 1981, at Fazenda São Geraldo, Pedro Carlos married Patricia Alexandra Brascombe (born November 22, 1964). They have one son:
- Prince Filipe of Orléans-Braganza (born December 31, 1982).
Pedro Carlos is a forest engineer.
