Primelist
Primelist a.k.a Primelist.com, headquartered in Cambridge (UK), is the world's first open index of freelancers and agencies worldwide. Innovatively, the site offers a free search engine where professionals interested in independent work can advertise their services, credentials and be contacted freely by potential clients. Most of the site's services are also free with no constraints of registrations to contact one another or stay on the site to transact. The website is, as of August 2014, financed through a combination of optional premium services and banner advertising. Primelist.com has been referred to as "a hotspot for elite freelance talent". As of August 2014, hundreds of freelancers use the site across disciplines to be contacted by potential clients.
History
Primelist.com was co-founded by entrepreneurs Nathan Boublil and Elliott Verreault. Starting as a side project, it launched in beta in April 2014 at Microsoft Ventures UK, following the founders' frustrations as freelancers while at Cambridge and as recruiters at their previous company.
In August 2014, Primelist.com won 2nd place at StartupChile's 9th generation demo day, out of 100 incubated startups. It was commended for its simple, yet powerful user experience as well as potential social impact by boosting the independent economy.
The Primelist founding duo are also the founders of award-winning government technology startup SmartGov, for which they won multiple awards including Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 at Cambridge and financial backing from Cambridge University, Google, the Royal Society of Arts and Unltd.
