Pretty Girls (band)

Pretty Girls is a 3-piece indie rock band from Boca Raton, Florida, USA. Their unique sound combines elements of surf, garage and neo-psychedelia with heavy power pop vibes. The band currently consists of Kyla Bostick (vocals and bass guitar,) Bobby Maloy (guitar) and Brandon Seymour (drums). Their style has been compared to artists such as Best Coast, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Tame Impala and fellow South Florida natives Surfer Blood. Pretty Girls released their debut EP "Famous Forever" in June 2014.

History

Pretty Girls was formed by Bobby Maloy and Brandon Seymour in July 2012. The Two met while playing shows together with other bands on the South Florida local music circuit. Maloy and Seymour later recruited bassist Camp Devlin and vocalist Melissa Renee. In November 2012, the quartet released their debut single "Wanna Go Home." In January 2013, Melissa Renee and Camp Devlin left the band, and vocalist/bassist Kyla Bostick was added to the band's lineup.

In addition to touring traditional venues, Pretty Girls also donates their time to various local charities around South Florida. In March 2013, Pretty Girls teamed up with Luv-A-Pet - a local Animal Rescue shelter - to collect donated items for animals in need. In April 2013, Pretty Girls played a free concert for Surfers for Autism's 6th annual beach festival in Deerfield Beach, Florida. In June 2013, Pretty Girls was voted Best Rock Band in the Broward-Palm Beach New Times Reader's Choice Awards. In September 2013, Pretty Girls was named Best Rock Band in South Florida by SouthFlorida.com and the Sun-Sentinel.
