PostPath Email and Collaboration Server
PostPath Email and Collaboration Server is a commercially-supported Linux-based messaging and collaborative software targeted as plug-compatible drop-in alternative to Microsoft Exchange™. The plug-compatibility is achieved by supporting Exchange-compatible network protocols at the server. The effect is that all Microsoft or Microsoft-enabled software (whether Outlook™, Active Directory™, existing Microsoft Exchange™ servers, or other applications like Blackberry™ Gateway) communicate and interoperate with the PostPath Server using the same network protocol commands as they do with Exchange™ enabling fully-functional interoperability and feature support. While “drop-in” simply means that when deployed, the new server does not require changes to existing desktops or server ecosystem infrastructure.
MTA
PostPath's MTA ( Mail Transfer Agent) is based on Postfix - an open source application which is already the default MTA for a number of Unix(-like) operating systems.
