Porter Hall was a Emo band formed in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1998. Porter Hall was formed by three members of the band, Showdown76 (Ross Anderson, Jeffrey Caissie and Munro McKenzie), along with Todd Harkness. Porter Hall (the original line up) was often compared to Knapsack, Samiam and The Get Up Kids. The first "version" of Porter Hall had Jeffrey Caissie as the lead singer/guitar player/song writer who left the band after ten months to focus on solo endeavors. An album was recorded shortly before his departure called "Ten Month Soundtrack". In early 2000 Endearing Records released the album. By the time of The Release of the first album, Porter Hall was already heavily performing with what people called "version 2" with Darren Preston taking up the singing/guitar & song writing duties. "Everything I know is stolen" was the album released by this new version of Porter Hall and had a much more refined/heavy sound. Caissie's pop vocals were replaced by Preston's growly vocals often compared to Blake Schwarzenbach of Jawbreaker.

Sadly, Porter Hall disbanded in 2002, shortly after the release of "Everything I know is stolen".
