Point of No Return (3LW album)

3LW confirmed to put a hold on "Point of No Return" while they tour with The Cheetah Girls. It was previously stated that despite Kiely and Adrienne's involvement with the Cheetah Girls, that the 3LW album would still see a release. However after the comeback single Feelin' You failed to chart well, the girls silently pushed the album back to an unspecified date. This has led many to believe the album will not see a release. However, others remain optimistic and believe the album will receive a release date in 2008.

Point Of No Return

Point of No Return is 3LW's third studio album. After their second studio album was released, member Naturi Naughton announced she was no longer apart of the group. The girls were still serious AbOUT continuing with the group and after sales for their second studio album, A Girl Can Mack underperformed, they held auditions across America looking for a new member. Jessica Benson made the cut and was officially part of 3LW in December 2002.

In the fall of 2003, 3LW departed from the epic label signing with the Jermaine Dupri's record label, So So Def. Jermaine Dupri, who has worked with artists such as Mariah Carey, Dem Franchize Boyz, Da Brat, Bow Wow, and many others, worked with the girls to release their album. They have been working very hard the last few years with their New album as well as Kiely and Adrienne's involvement with The Cheetah Girls.

The album, originally named Phoenix Rising and later changed to Point Of No Return, was due to be released in August 2006, but was pushed back because Jermaine Dupri felt it was better to release the album at a later date because of the popularity with the Cheetah Girls. Rumors were released that 3LW had broken up because Adrienne and Kiely wanted to focus on the Cheetah Girls, but Adrienne stated that this was not true.

The girls give a new, sexy, grown appeal to this album, showcasing new vocals and a new member Jessica Benson. Three of the albums tracks have leaked to the internet so far: "Do Ya", and "Strictly Business". "Feelin' You" is the album's lead single and the video was shot in June of 2006. The album's next single, "Strictly Business" is a very mature sound for 3LW. There has so far been no promotion for the album due to Kiely and Adrienne's involvement in the Cheetah Girls.

Presently, the group have been inactive as 3LW since 2006 and many fans speculate the group have disbanded. This is due to their album receiving no current release date, no single confirmed and Adrienne's announcement of her own up and coming solo projects including a solo album. In July 2007, after a long period of waiting for the group, the groups most popular fansite and forum 3LWFANS.net was forced into closure. Another reason for the speculation about the split of 3LW is their involvement with the Cheetah Girls. The Cheetah Girls are well established and generate more money than 3LW who have been away from the scene for so long that many feel their comeback would in fact be a second introduction. Therefore both Adrienne and Kiely are suspected to have opted to take the safe route and chosen to stick with the Cheetah Girls rather than make a long awaited return to 3LW.
