Pohnpei State football team
The Pohnpei State football team is the representative football side of the island of Pohnpei, located in the Pacific Ocean.
The team featured in Paul Watson's book Up Pohnpei: A Quest to Reclaim the Soul of Football by Leading the World's Ultimate Underdogs to Glory, which documents Watson's time spent coaching the side, during which he and close friend Matt Conrad led the Pohnpei team on A Tour of Guam. It was on this tour that the team, who had appeared in an article in The Sun newspaper entitled 'The world's worst team?', recorded their first victory, overcoming Crushers FC 7-1.
