PMI North India Chapter
The PMI North India Chapter is a non-profit professional organization for the project management profession with the purpose of advancing project management.
Overview
The North India Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) was founded on May 25, 2002, as an autonomous, non-profit, tax-exempted, membership association dedicated to the profession of project management. PMI® is internationally recognized as the official certifying body for the global project management community through practices that address appropriate local, national and global requirements and standards.
PMI North India chapter as a non-profit professional organization is dedicated to supporting its members and promoting the Project Management principles in the North India region. It offers opportunities to its members and non-members to network, share professional experiences, earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) through various events organized from time to time.
Objective of North India Chapter is to be a vibrant chapter, which leads and leverages its local and global resources and networks to increase awareness, recognition and support for the project management profession, and its goals are:
- Facilitate a holistic platform/network to exchange knowledge, information and expertise among the members.
- Bring and synchronize the best industry practices together by cross-fertilization of ideas from industry and institutions.
- Translate the knowledge, skills and best industry practices to benefit social, environmental and government projects and other initiatives that eventually benefit the common man.

Key Focus Areas
Key Focus areas of the current board are:
- Working, Updating and Closing with PMI - Annual Chapter Documents
- Organizing Knowledge Sharing Events in different industry sectors and certain Tier-2 City Geographies
- Corporate PDU Events – building upon last year’s practice for benefit of chapter members
- Sector Specific Events – Collaboration with different bodies, organizations
- Website Revamp
- Providing Volunteer Opportunities to members to engage them and also provide platform to earn PDU’s
- More Engaged Board with the chapter member community
- Engagement with various government and private sector organizations to:
- Work on PM Advocacy and grow the community in our geography specifically and country at large
- Creation of Advisory Committee comprising of industry veterans and those who have contributed / can contribute to chapter’s growth – Work on structure and composition definition in progress along with concept for others
- Providing more Career opportunities to our chapter members through existing and under discussion channels with different organizations by Chapter Board.
