The company was founded in 1968 by Lloyd "Mick" Lee as Area Consultants. In 1970 it expanded into real estate services and was renamed Executive Home Consultants, later broadening into rental services, new home construction advising, mortgages, investment real estate, and video production under the name Real Estate Plus. In the 1990s, Mick and Sandy Lee sold the real estate portion of the business to Edina Realty and renamed the remaining relocation division Plus Relocation Services. Susan Benevides was named president in the 2000s and became CEO in 2017. In 2007, the company launched Plus Relocation Mortgage, a joint venture with Newrez. During the 2010s, the company expanded internationally, opening offices in London (2011), Hong Kong (2013), Shanghai (2017), and Singapore (2019). It launched a technology platform, Elo Solutions, in 2015, and later established an internal technology division, Plus One, which released a mobility-benefits platform called Point C in 2019.
