Planet Positive

{{-}} Planet Positive is an International Environmental Ecolabel certification mark operating in the United Kingdom and United States. Planet Positive, an international environmental organization, states their aim as being the creation of a positive outlook towards sustainability whilst creating confidence and clarity amongst consumers.

Ecolabel certification mark

The Planet Positive mark signifies that: a product ; business ; event; or person, has measured their environmental impact or ecological footprint and have committed to actively reducing it for increased sustainability.

Accreditation Process

As part of the accreditation process, bearers of the Planet Positive ecolabel mark undergo a 4-step process.

  • These four steps are:
    • measurement of their carbon footprint.
    • creation of a dedicated reduction plan.
    • an 'Act' - action stage.
    • requirement to report openly in the public domain of the bearer's emissions.

The 'Act' Stage

Unique amongst environmental certification marks, Planet Positive accreditation also requires bearers to make a 'positive action' beyond the BOUNDARIES of their business. This takes the form of a donation into verified community projects, thereby taking a triple bottom line approach.

Planet Positive Foundation

Through the not for profit arm of the Planet Positive Foundation, the Planet Positive certification mark engages with the public in a proactive manner.

This is done through:
  • the measurement of personal emissions.
  • the sending of reductions advice.
  • campaigns Planet Positive Foundation runs. (for example the 2020 Vision campaign.)
