Pike Logan
Pike Logan is a fictional character created by Brad Taylor, "[who]...served for more than twenty-one years in the U.S. Army, retiring in 2010 as a Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel, ....including eight years in 1st Special Forces Operations Detachment—DELTA popularly known as the DELTA FORCE ..."
Pike Logan is a (founding) member of an above top secret counter-[...] organization called the Task Force. Pike's given name is Nephilim (Logan) but goes by his Delta Force call sign as "Pike" due to his dislike of the name given to him by his "hippy parents." Pike was recruited for the Task Force from the U.S. Army's most elite unit: Delta Force. Pike's military status is that of a retired NCO Sergeant Major (short story "The Dig") however this is a recent development in that Pike has "officially" separated from the Task Force (Task Force operators are active duty military and CIA Special Operations Division members). Pike started a business called Grolier Recover Services with friend, love interest, "Operator-trained" and archaeologist, Jennifer Cahill. Grolier Recovery Services is a cover organization frequently utilized by the Task Force (thereby utilizing Pike and Jennifer) for undercover operations and also employs other Task Force Operators as a part of developing its own cover and that of the "employed" operators. Being that it is so closely tied to the Task Force, Pike's activities are still managed directly by Colonel Kurt Hale and indirectly by the Task Force Oversight Counsel. In this way Pike's current role has not really changed all of that much from when he was officially a Task Force Operator.
