Pierre Valade

Pierre Valade (born 1986, Paris, France), is a French internet entrepreneur And Co-founder of the calendar application Sunrise.

Education

Valade was born in Paris, France and graduated from the Ecole des Ponts ParisTech with a Master in Computer Science. During this last year before graduating, he studied at the Design School at Stanford University where he got introduced to Design Thinking.

Career

After graduating, Valade moved in September 2010 to New York, USA and worked as a software engineer at the gaming company FreshPlanet. In February 2013, Valade attended the first Foursquare Hackathon and build, in less than 6 hours, an app called Agora that got Foursquare’s CEO Dennis Crowley attention. In June 2013, Foursquare announced that Valade will join their Product team as a designer.

In 2013, Valade co-founded Sunrise with Jeremy Le Van. Two years later, on the 4th of February 2015, it got acquired by Microsoft for more than $100 Million
