Philipe Schoene
Philipe Schoene-Roura is the Executive Editor of Caribbean Business, a business-oriented weekly periodical printed in San Juan, Puerto Rico and the founder and editor of several Puerto Rican publications.
Early life
Schoene was born in New York City in 1961. His parents are journalist Robert Schoene and realtor Estrella Roure. Philipe is a graduate of Eckerd College, where he majored in Political Science and Psychology.
Career
Schoene was recruited by Casiano Communications and Manuel Casiano, founder of The Newspaper, to serve as Managing editor, and was retained by Heiko Faass CEO and Editor-in-Chief when the publication was purchased by Latin Media House LLC, headed by Miguel Ferrer, a Puerto Rican investor and entrepreneur. Prior to his current role, Schoene was an editor at Publishing Resources, a San Juan-based publishing house responsible for several publications issued annually, such as Puerto Rico Living, edited by him.
From 1992 to 2007, he was one of the founders of San Juan Magazine, where he served as Editor and Creative Director, before he became Editor-in-Chief, among other roles in Puerto Rico journalism.
