Peter Karpinski (Entrepreneur)

Peter Karpinski is the co-founder of Sage Restaurant Group, partner at Sage Hospitality, And Co-founder of ARRIVE Hotels & Restaurants. He is considered to be a dynamic, creative leader, and an entrepreneurial force in the hospitality, management and development industry.

In these roles, Karpinski leads lifestyle-focused real estate development projects and curates overall brand development, ownership, and management platforms. His distinguished brand leadership and high level of passion helps to deliver products that are well-regarded by consumers, investors, and the industry alike. His entrepreneurship, unrivaled hospitality experience, business ethics, and commitment to the community all intertwine and pave the way for the continued growth of each company.

Life

The youngest of three siblings, Karpinski was born in Auburn, New York. His mother worked in university administration and his father is currently an attorney. Karpinski graduated from Cornell University in 1999. The alum of Cornell University’s Hotel Administration later worked with several top hospitality brands including Philadelphia’s Starr Restaurant Organization where he was a protege of empire builder Stephen Starr, Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, and the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, a Four Seasons Hotel and Resort in Beverly Hills, California.

Career

In 2005, Karpinski moved to Denver and joined Sage Hospitality and co-founded Sage Restaurant Group, where he oversaw the launch of 14 award-winning restaurant concepts and is known for bringing indie style back to big hotel restaurant.

In 2012, he incorporated ARRIVE Enterprises LLC with Chris Pardo. Throughout their respective careers, Karpinski and Pardo have strived to chart new paths for their industries with Pardo in the architectural, interior design, and hospitality arenas, and Karpinski in the world of restaurant and hotel development, branding, and operations. The pair committed to developing a hospitality brand together that would redefine modern travel and dining, and after many years of conceptualization, they came full circle to launch the ARRIVE brand and the partnership extended to Ezra Callahan, who recently shifted his focus to this arena after several years working at Facebook where he was the Company’s sixth employee and first product manager, Matt Steinberg, a Stanford-trained lawyer, and David Isen, a software engineer and touring musician for HORSE the Band.

In 2016, Karpinski opened the award-winning Halcyon Hotel and second location of Departure restaurant in Denver. With plans to multiply core brands and launch bold and fresh concepts, in 2017 Karpinski was part of the company’s Dairy Block project in downtown Denver, introducing a full city block redevelopment featuring The Maven , a new urban upscale hotel brand, a second location of Kachina Southwestern Grill, a new bar called Poka Lola Social Club , and Class A office and retail space. Karpinski and his team launched the fourth location of SRG’s modern steakhouse brand, Urban Farmer. Coming soon, Karpinski will open Emporium Kitchen and Wine Market in Fort Collins , Colorado in November 2017, as well as in Savannah, Georgia in March of 2018. Karpinski has played a vital role in Sage Restaurant Group’s “Hungry to Help” campaign, an associate and guest donation program that supports local and national charities. Along with his company’s charity work, Karpinski has served on several boards including the Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Denver Kids Inc Karpinski lives in Denver with his wife. Together, they have two children.
