Peter Farey
Peter Farey ( * 1941 (?) - ), British Management Consultant and best known Marlowe Scholar
Life
He worked for a British Airline for over thirty years, before leaving to become a freelance management development consultant. In the sixties, he started his interest in the Marlovian Theory ever since he noticed in the Esquire magazine an article on Calvin Hoffman's theory AbOUT the Shakespeare authorship question. Peter Farey has had an interest in Christopher Marlowe from his schooldays as member of Marlowe house at Dulwich College. He comes from a theatrical background, and was a founder-member of the UK's National Youth Theatre back in 1956. He has had a life-long love of acting, but his main passion has always been Shakespeare and the authorship question. When not arguing with 'Stratfordians' on the internet, he is a regular performer in poetry readings, offered monthly at his local theatre by the Wildcard Theatre Company.
Impact
He is one of the most reliable, fair informant on Christopher Marlowe, and carefully also give the other side to the story. The philosophy of Peter Farey is that the trouble with most of the anti-Shakespearen up till now is that they have been too eager to convince, and that this is not a good strategy, because the more they appear to want to convince their audience, the more resistant they will be. He has one of the most excellent website containing own research on Christopher Marlowe and extensive useful documentary original materials .
In 2007 he was selected a winner of the Hoffman Prize with an Marlovian essay "Hoffman and the Authorship".
