Pelsall Villa Colts F.C

Pelsall Villa Colts is a youth football team located in the village of Pelsall, near Walsall in the West Midlands, UK. It is the premier club in Pelsall and one of the most prestigious in the Walsall Junior Youth League, having won numerous awards including the coveted F.A. Charter Development Standard in 2007. The Club celebrated its 30th Anniversary in 2009 at its headquarters at Pelsall Cricket and Sports Club in Walsall Road, Pelsall.

Pelsall Villa Colts F.C. was formed in 1978 as Pelsall United by a local policeman, Lou Evans, with a view to getting local youngsters off the streets. The Club currently has 16 teams whose members range in age from six and under ( the Academy) up through those under 21, and Veterans. The teams play in the Walsall Junior Youth Football League, the Bilston Partnership Youth League and the Lichfield & District Recreational League. Pelsall United became Pelsall Villa Colts in 1991 and the youth team was the first to play under floodlights at the Bush Ground, at the rear of the Bush Public house on Pelsall Common, which is now the home of Pelsall Villa FC, (Not associated with Pelsall Villa Colts).

Club chairman Darren Hodgkiss succeeded Steve Rochelle who had been involved with the Club for 24 years as a committee member, vice chairman, and finally chairman. John Coleman, the present vice chairman, has been involved with the Club for 18 years; treasurer Alan Kent has been with the Club for 15 years. Gareth Lloyd was appointed secretary in July 2009 as successor to Steve Coyne. Steve, as well as managing two teams, produced and published the Clubs' first website, drafted the Club constitution, and was instrumental in attaining F.A. Charter Development status for Pelsall Villa Colts in 2007. All of the Club officials are F.A. qualified and/or fully CRB checked.
