Pegasus agritech

Pegasus Agritech was established in 2011 as the market leaders and owners of hydroponics farming facilities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region. They have revolutionized the growth of fruit and vegetables in the area by implementing the latest technology in the production process and removing the need for foreign imports. They use premium seeds from Europe that are planted in a bed of rock wool and fed water and nutrients via a state of the art hydroponics system. The technology minimizes human interaction, and the resulting damage to crops, and is ongoing seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The first hydroponic farm in the Middle East was launched in Bahrain in 1995, spearheaded by Pegasus Agritech Experts. Pegasus merged with Agritech to form Pegasus Agritech in 2011. They launched their first investment grade, commercial hydroponic farm in Oman in August 2013.[2] The facility is located in Muscat, covering 20,000 sqm of land and produces fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables utilizing hydroponics in automated temperature managed greenhouses in the desert at a fraction of the cost of foreign imports. Pegasus have previously built commercial farms under the Agritech banner in Dubai, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

GCC food imports are expected to reach $53.1 billion by 2020. Pegasus Agritech aims to help reduce the GCC food imports by providing at least 25% of the fresh produce to GCC made through hydroponics farming in GCC.
