PCPOP

Pop, also know as Bubble (Chinese:泡泡; Hanyu Pinyin:Pào Pào; created in 2002) is a forum designed for Chinese people around the age of 17-30 to discuss issues around the world. Most of the issues frequently occur within the site are political,social, cultural and leisure issues. They are now one of the forums in China with the most members, there are approximately 200,000 members online at any one time.


Activity Outside Internet

Pop have created many leisure centres around China mostly distributed within large cities such as Beijing and Shanghai. Frequently they promote sporting events and competitions for the members of Pop, these sports consists of Badminton, Football, basketball and other less well known sports. Pop is also now a brand of make for T-shirts and sporting equipments.

Recently a survey had been brought to show that Pop have reach a stage where the articles posted each day are toping 900,000. On the emblem of every T-shirt made by Pop and every website within the Pop network possess the words Leisure, Sport, Living, Computing, Cars, Photography, and Fashion, it is used as advertising for the company, with the hint of giving people ideas of the subjects and activities that passes through the website each day.


Honourable Members

大日, meaning Big Sun, also know as the 'Giant Sunflower' by fellow Popers. He is well-known through pop for his interest in helping with club activities and in his spare time to get some appreciation from the ladies, he is described in the popers’ handbook as 'a warm single man who is always willing to help other with their problems, he is well respected and girls give him a chance.'

Neten, or in Chinese 奶疼 meaning hurting breast, she acts as a senior member of Pop, in the popers handbook she is said to be 'like a mothering figure who teach others important lessons on life, she is usually seen as being quite cold but really she have very warm heart.'

可山, meaning can mountain, he is known for his cunning flirting skills and the pictures he post on Pop. The poper handbook tells popers 'If you still do not understand things about 可山 please read on [http://pop.pcpop.com/blog/406916.html]his blog.'

龙树, meaning dragon tree, is the digital expert, in the poper handbook he is described as 'the one to ask about any digital products from the oldest cameras to the newest arrival of MP4 players.'

抢一, meaning steal first, is the 'news reporter'of Pop, as in the poper hand book he is described to be 'more efficient news update than Sina, he is always packed with news ready to share with the faithful popers.


ID Colours and Ranking Table

There are three different colours of ID names, Red ID, Blue ID and Black ID. The colour of the ID is only for distinguishing the gender of the user, the members with Red ID are female, the Blue ID are male, and the black ID for the people who registered in the earlier stages of Pop where there was no requirement for gender selections.
In Pop the contribution of the members are counted in prestige, this means the more articles a member posts their prestige goes up and therefore are more respectable than the normal members. Table is as below, it is also in the poper handbook:

To post a new Article receives 10 pop coins.
To reply to any article receives 2 pop coins.
Every reply in an article not by the original writer, the author is rewarded with 1 pop coin each reply.
If the article have been promoted by the senior members of Pop the writer will gain 1000 prize pop coins.
Also if a member click on an advert in Pop they will receive 50 pop coins each click.
Unless a member have more than 1 million pop coins either in the bank or in their pocket, they are entitled to an interest if they have left money in the bank, but for a member with coins exceeding 1 million this interest is automatically cancelled until the coins have been used and gone down to below 1 million coins.

The coins can be used to buy cards for posting articles with special effects.

Balloon card raises the article to the top of the list for a while, card disappear straight after use. Costs 100 pop coins.
Silence card is used to stop people replying to an article, card disappear straight after use. Cost 200 pop coins.
Noise card is used to reverse the effect of silence card, card disappear straight after use. Costs 200 pop coins.
Record card is used to record the articles that had cards used on them at what time and by who, card disappear straight after use. Costs 100 pop coins.
Anonymous card is used to be shown as anonymous when posting articles or reply to articles, card disappear straight after use. Costs 50 pop coins.
Uncover card is used to see the identity of anonymous member's real username, card disappear straight after use. Costs 100 pop coins.
Watering card is used to stop the 20 second limitation on releasing article, card disappear straight after use. Costs 20 pop coins.
Voting card is used to allow the user to have the ability to release a voting article, card disappear straight after use. Costs 300 pop coins.
