Paul G. Maziar

Paul G. Maziar is an American poet/author, living in Brooklyn, NY, best known for his experimental style of prose. His literary debut, What It Is: What It Is, a collaboration with the visual design of Cold War Kids' bassist, Matt Maust, earned substantial media attention. Filter Magazine said,

"With prose poems AbOUT taking deep breaths from our collective unconscious and making exhalations of cold smoke into thin air, and photo-collage images of cities, FACES, skies and subways, the work suggests a fractured postmodern world viewed through nostalgic eyes and voiced by a warm, familiar tongue that still sounds unique."

While Paste Magazine said,

"Maziar is best telling stories about others, as in "Lamb in Lionsuit: Curly Under the Freeway", a profile of a homeless man. He can write poetry too, flashing through black fences of description: Who would cry for the new coming from Hollywood, the news of models with giant deadness ... Maziar owes much to the Beats. Like those writers, he works best read aloud. (The ear May Be a more open organ than the eye when it comes to the pleasure of words.)"
