Patrick Moore is a little known British musician. For the astronomer, click Patrick Moore.
Patrick Moore was born in Bedfordshire, England on 4 October 1965. His parents were keen musicians, and it was not long before he too was showing a keen interest in music. Starting on the sopranino recorder at age 3, he worked his way through piano, cello and trombone, before taking up the guitar and bass guitar at age 13. By the age of 21 he had progressed to being able to play The Grand Old Duke of York in front of members of his family, memorably finishing the final two bars playing his instrument through his left nostril.
Since then, he has worked with many of London's top jazz musicians, including Tim Garland, Theo Travis, John Dankworth, Rolf Harris and Cleo Laine. He is currently playing guitar and keyboards with top London tribute band Bootleg Blondie.
