Vice-president of PartStore.com is Dan Sachs, and their e-commerce director is Jack Matarasso. PartStore was launched in the summer of 2004. Revamping itself in 2005.
PartStore.com claims to have over seven million parts, ranging from appliance parts to computer accessories, and other replacement parts. PartStore offers uncommon parts, projector lamps, commonly misplaced or broken components & accessories, and add-ons for household electronics and appliances.
PartStore.com was listed in the Top 500 largest e-retailers Guide by Internet Retailer two years in a row, 2006 and 2007. This list also incorporated large retailers such as Apple, Target, and Wal-Mart.
PartStore.com also runs an ACTIVE Duty Delivery Program, where they allow and deliver goods to soldiers working overseas. Starting in 2006, the program delivers direct to APO mailboxes. The program also provides discounts for those who take advantage of the service.
Criticism
This company has been criticized for a number of business practices. They have a Resellerrattings.com lifetime rating of 3.54 / 10 (as of December 2007). In the year 2007, they have had a total of 41 complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Some of their main complaints include accusations of "bait and switch", inability to provide information regarding back orders, charging taxes to out of state customers (PartSearch Technologies located in New York state, and does not have any physical store locations), and return and refund practices.
