Parker Prowlers
The Parker Prowlers are a professional inline hockey team based in Parker, Colorado. They compete in the PIHA. The Prowlers play their home games out of the Parker Field House. The 2008-2009 Parker Prowlers Pro team is: Jordan Bateman, Ryan Bernot, Rees Bernot, Ryan Donahue, Justin Drapal, Frank Dwyer, Daniel Esquibel, Jon Ingrum, Andy Otten, Jake Rosa, Ryan Schiffner, Tyler Steele and Brian Villarreal with Bobby Mason and Chris Gill in goal. Bateman, Drapal, Dwyer and Steele all come from The Eagle Crest High School Hockey Program, and all have won State Championships in the Colorado High School Inline Association. Ryan Bernot and younger brother Rees Bernot both come out of the Smoky Hill hockey program. Ryan Bernot won one state championship during his high school career. He has also been able to showcase his talents on an international level with Team USA. He looks to bring his experience and leadership, as well as his outstanding puck possession and scoring abilities to the table this year. Rees Bernot is currently a senior at Smoky Hill High School and is expected to have his team in contention for a state championship. Rees is extremely talented offensively and has an INCredible nose for the puck on Both ENDS of the rink. Ryan Donahue is a product of CHSIHA hall of fame coach Dave Alwes who guided Arvada High School during its run to three consecutive final four appearances. He is noted for his unique ability to get under the skin of opposing teams, drawing penalties, and mucking it up in front of the net. Daniel Esquibel was a standout at Grandview High School as well as with the Lakewood Fire hockey club. He has showcased his great ability to finish in tournaments around the country. Brian Villarreal, formerly of the Fort Collins Catz organization, is expected to add scoring depth to an already potent offensive attack. He is a big body with soft hands that can put the puck away with the best of them. Jon Ingrum, who has strong family ties to inline hockey through ownership of Skate City, is expected to be the one of the top scorers for the Prowlers. Jon has the ability stick handle out of any situation and plays with his heart on his sleeve every single game. Along with Ingrum, the Bernot brothers, Justin Drapal, Daniel Esquibel, Jordan Bateman and Frank Dwyer. The Parker Prowlers are looking to make up for a less-than-stellar 2007-2008 season with a style of play that focuses on puck possession and tenacious defense. The Parker Prowlers will go without the talents of Parker Harrison or Josh Ingrum in the 2008-2009 season but the opening day roster, although very young, is deep with talent. With vast improvements at the goaltender position, the Parker Prowlers are expected to make a run at the Rocky Mountain Division, which no doubt will produce another legitimate contender for the Founders Cup.
Other notable players in the Parker Prowlers system include Devon Sherwood, who is thought to be one of the top goalies in the entire division but will see only limited action on the Pro team due to age restrictions.
