Parallax Film Productions Inc.
Parallax Film Production produces factual and dramatic content for domestic and international markets.
The company was founded in 1997 by Ian Herring and is based in the Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada area.
Profile
Parallax Film specializes in science and engineering storytelling, using a combination of high-stakes field footage and photo-real visual effects to document events.
Exclusive footage includes sinking, and later retrieving, cameras on scuttled vessels, using high speed cameras to film explosive demolition at 300+ frames per second and mounting cameras on buildings to capture intricate details of implosions.
Photo-real visual effects are produced in-house using a combination of still images and green screen elements. This CREATES visuals that can be integrated into the show more seamlessly than computer generated imagery, or CGI, traditionally used in documentary filmmaking.
Parallax Film documentaries have aired on several networks including Discovery Channels (US, Canada and International), National Geographic Channels (US, Canada and International), History Channel (US), Channel 4 (UK), FIVE (UK), DMAX (Germany), RAI (Italy), TV Asahi (Japan), PBS NOVA and Nature and History Television (Canada).
