Pankaj Razdan

Pankaj Razdan is the Deputy Chief Executive of Aditya Birla Financial Services Group, and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Birla Sun Life Insurance Company Limited. He also serves as a Deputy Chief Executive Officer of financial services business at Aditya Birla Nuvo Limited.

Education

Razdan obtained a B.Sc. degree in Electronics from Pune University and B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from Bombay University. He received management development degrees from IIM, Ahmedabad and leadership training from Centre of Leadership, USA.

Career

Pankaj Razdan joined the Aditya Birla Group in 2007. Before Aditya Birla Group he had been the Managing Director of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund. He headed the ICICI Prudential AMC between 2004 - 2007. Under Razdan’s leadership, ICICI Prudential AMC’s assets went up from about Rs.150 billion to about Rs.500 billion.

At ICICI Prudential, he was one of the youngest CEOs within ICICI group companies and only executive who came from outside to reach top ranks in the group. He served as the Manager of Aditya Birla Money Limited from October 2010 to February 2011. He served as a Director of Association of Mutual Funds of India until 18 July 2007. He also served as a Non-Executive Director of Aditya Birla Money Limited from September 2008 to March 2014. As Deputy CEO of ABFSG, Pankaj Razdan along with Group CEO Ajay Srinivasan, is credited with building a cohesive financial services group. The three engines on which they have grown are: insurance, mutual funds and NBFC business. They steadied the insurance and MFs businesses and built up the NBFC business.
