Palem Srikanth Reddy
Palem Srikanth Reddy was born on 28 August 1963 in Hyderabad.
Early life
He did his schooling in []Hyderabad]] Public School and received his B.E in the year 1985 at Madras University (R.E.C. Trichy) now it is popularly known as NIT. He received his M.S in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at Stanford University in USA in 1989. In brief, he is a Stanford graduate in Masters (Engineering) and chairman of a mid-cap public listed IT company which he founded.
Career
He has been the state president of Professionals cell of TDP (Telugu Desam Party) from 2008-2013. His father is a retired Chief Justice of High Court. He has started a small political party similar to AAP. He lost his election in 2009 to the parliament against YS Jagan. He sold his company last year and now operates a start=up in IT again with an established team. He spends 10% of his time on business and 90% in politics now.
Since 2008, he has been Chairman of Four Soft Limited (name changed to Palred Technologies Limited PTL) which continues to be a public listed company. The business was valued at approximately USD 50.0 M dollars in a business sale transaction with Francisco Partners / Kewill in 2013. After returning 90% of the money to the shareholders, PTL continues to operate with a fund of USD 5 M retained to build new IT businesses. Now, PTL has just started operations in online e-commerce business.
He is no longer the lead in the business but remain involved in process, technical and business architecture issues apart from overall business planning and strategy. This is start up operation now in IT, with opportunity to expand into two more verticals besides e-commerce. He has also spent some time in the media and entertainment domain creating characters for children’s show (Soori Poori) that is telecast on Pogo channel. At present, he continue to remain as Chairman of PTL and his current responsibility is to build entrepreneurial teams by acquiring small start up companies in IT with potential to grow and provide them the mentoring/financial/management/technology support through this public listed company and help them grow into larger operations while continuing to create wealth for the shareholders and the country.
He is the sole founder and managing director of Four Soft Limited, which is a listed Company on NSE and BSE with a market capitalization of USD 40 M. The Company employed 1,000 people at peak in 2007 with the Head Office and development centre in Hi-tech City, Hyderabad. The Company operates subsidiaries/branches in Singapore, Netherlands, UK, France, Australia, Japan, Denmark and the USA. Four Soft is an enterprise software company (products) for the transportation and logistics vertical and supply chain process management domain. As the founder and MD, He was involved in almost all aspects of the business including product development, sales, implementation and financial planning and controls. His present position involves international travel of 10 days per month on an average.
Four Soft has credited intellectual product through Development of Enterprise Solutions. The products have been patented globally and implemented successfully. The current revenue of the Company is over USD 45 M making it the largest logistics solutions company globally. The company has also won the best SME award from HYSEA (Hyderabad Software exporters Association). The product has also received an accreditation for excellence by the Global Institute of Logistics (GIL, USA).
Emery is a total integrated logistics / transportation service provider including airfreight, ocean freight, customs, warehousing and distribution. Emery has a network of 500 offices worldwide and a turnover of USD 2.5 billion. Emery was a subsidiary of CnF Inc, a fortune 500, listed Company on NYSE with annual revenue of USD 5.5 billion.
He is the Co-founder, Local Joint Venture Partner and the Managing Director of the Indian Operation, which was established in 1996. When he left the organization in 2000, it had grown to a volume of business of USD 30 M with offices in 7 metros and 200 employees in India. As he have built the operation from scratch he was involved in all aspects of business, including building a strong management team which gives perpetuity to organization’s business model. The organization has continued to sustain the growth even after my exit. The overseas partner (Emery, USA) has completely acquired my ownership in the Indian Company on mutually accepted terms. It was a very cordial exit and a true win-win relationship. This has also resulted in substantial financial gains for me personally through creation of this organization.
He was based at the Asia Pacific distribution operation of Hewlett Packard, in Singapore. The operation was the Distribution Center for computer products, peripherals and consumables. This operation supplied to the market demands of all countries in Asia Pacific. As a Logistics Manager, my responsibilities were:
Philanthropy
In 2000 he joined as a trustee of Justice PC Reddi Trust which is largely focused on encouraging women’s education by way of providing scholarships to meritorious girls from weak economic back grounds. He helped raise over 1.0 crore for these activities. In addition, on behalf of the trust they donated computers to 200 schools in rural areas along with faculty for teaching basics of IT in the year 2008-09. he continue in the trust as a convenor now apart from actively supporting it.
Politics-
In 2008, he joined Telugu Desam Party and unsuccessfully contested the parliament elections in 2009 from Kadapa, against YS Jagan. It was a close contest in 5/7 assembly constituencies and one sided in favour of Jagan in only 2 of out of the 7 assembly constituencies, which were controlled with support of money, muscle and machinery (Govt).
In 2008 he established TSNV, platform to encourage youth and professionals to participate actively in politics. This was converted into TDP cell / wing for professionals in the state. The membership exceeded several thousands. In this position he was in charge of all educated youth / professionals / entrepreneurs related wing for the entire state of AP, reporting directly to party president Chandrababu Naidu.
In 2012-13 he conducted Yuvapatham with the slogan “Right path to future for Youth” he organized/led this program in 6 districts covering 75,000 youth conducting debates as part of awareness programs on various issues facing youth including employment, education, role of youth in society, politics and eradication of corruption. This was a well watched program on one of the TV channels in Telugu.
In 2014 he established a platform called Janapaalana which is a socio-politico platform to fight corruption in politics. It is being converted into a political party preparing for elections in 2019 in AP and Telangana. He was also unofficially a spokesperson for TDP appearing 4-5 times a week on various TV channels in AP during the period 2011-2013. He was speaking on a wide range of subjects with confidence and authority.
