Ostaz Samm
Samer Zaki Shaqfeh () (born in 1984) is a hip-hop artist from Amman, Jordan, better known by his stage names Samm and Ostaz Samm, most known for begin on MBC 4's Arabs' Got Talent.
Biography
Ostaz Samm started rapping back in 2001, at that year Samm recorded an album on his expense though he did not get the chance to distribute it due to the lack of support, Ostaz Samm waited until 2007 to get the needed attention.
In 2008, Ostaz Samm met the Jordanian hip hop producer Damar, and they started working on various songs, some of them got huge recognition in the Arab Hip Hop scene through the Internet.
in 2009 Ostaz Samm got chosen among 12 Arab rappers in the Arab world to represent his country in the Hip Hop talent show Beit El Hip Hop which was on Wanasah TV.
in 2010 Ostaz Samm was involved in a project in London, England called "Lyrical Alliance" among with Tamer Nafar, Shadia Mansour, Rabah of MBS, Rayess Bek of Aksser, Taking the legendary Mu'Allaqat poems - written at a time when the Arab region was the cultural and intellectual centre of the world â as a starting point, the artists have dug deep into the roots of their art form, developing new work together in a series of live sessions and workshops throughout the year have reached a climax with a series of major concerts.
Ostaz Samm is currently working on his debut album, while he working as a teacher in a workshops that aims to teach the Hip Hop culture and to train the Jordanian youth the skills of the Hip Hop.
Controversy
Ostaz Samm was accused of assaulting a Lebanese singer Najwa Karam, Where she was a jury in Arabs' Got Talent, She had to choose between the Palestinian kid, Issam Bchiti, and the Jordanian rapper , Ostaz Samm from Jordan.
The jury chose to save Issam and wished a hard luck for Ostaz Samm, Najwa Karam was 1st to choose Issam, then Ali Jaber and Amr Adeeb (Who were also juries in the TV Show) agreed with her directly what turned on Ostaz Samm's anger After the show, Ostaz Samm and his relatives attacked Najwa Karam in the backstage, Amr Adeeb was the closest to Najwa so he tried to protect her until the security guys arrived and kicked them all out.
After one week, both Najwa Karam and Ostaz Samm deny the rumor.
