Oshwal High School

Oshwal High School is a private secondary school based in 1st Parklands Avenue in Nairobi, Kenya. It was established in 1963. It offers the IGCSE British curriculum. The school's current headmistress is Mrs. Chotai.

Grade levels

Students enter Oshwal High School from grade 7 and continue to study till grades 13 (Form 6).

Courses

From grades seven to nine, it is mandatory for students to take the following classes.

6. ) Art
7. ) Business Studies and Accounting
8. ) Foreign Language - Swahili, French or Gujarati

During 10th grade, students have to choose whether he or she will be studying Business or Sciences. For a student taking Business these are the courses he or she must take.

3. ) History or Geography
4. ) English
5. ) Math
6. ) Foreign Language - Swahili, French or Gujarati
7. ) Economics or Computers
8. ) PE

For a student taking Sciences these are the courses he or she must take.

1. ) English

3. ) Physics
4. ) Chemistry
5. ) Biology
6. ) Foreign Language
7. ) Economics or Computers
8. ) PE
9. ) Optional - Human Biology.

But this may vary, as students may wish to take Physics and Chemistry but not Biology. Nowadays, the school is allowing students to take any combination they like, but the number of subjects that they allow is fixed.

Houses

There are four houses in Oshwal High School. These include:

• Simba (Red)
• Gazelle (Green)
• Impala (Blue)
• Flamingo (Yellow).

These 4 houses compete against each other in various activities such as Sports, Drama etc.
