Orbitform Group
Orbitform Group The design and manufacture of Orbitform orbital riveting machines began in the early 1980s. In 1987 Mike Shirkey began building a company out of what was then a rather limited Orbitform product line.
In 1995 Orbitform acquired the Adtech line of impact riveting machines into Orbitform. Adtech's history goes back over 60 years to the old Tompkins Johnson machine days.
By 1996 Orbitform outgrew their facility and moved to a modern 115,000 sq. ft. engineering and manufacturing center on Executive Drive. Employment has slowly but steadily expanded to approximately 55 workers in 2009.
Three more strategic acquisitions have been made since 1995.
- 2002 added Arbor Automation, a robust line of palletized material handling equipment.
- 2004 added Milford Rivet Company, this addition established Orbitform as the most comprehensive riveting machine company in the world by filling in the machine spectrum we previously did not have access to.
- 2006, further expansion by the acquisition of Marathon Weld Group, this product team focuses on resistance welding applications...with emphasis on fixed tool (H-Frame) welding machines and a developing product offering of small footprint robotic spot welding systems.
Orbitform's latest product development is in Process Intelligence, the Watchdawg Product line.
To date Orbitform has over 15,000 machines and systems servicing a wide spectrum of customers. Today Orbitform Group machines and systems can be found in virtually any industry where forming, fastening, and assembly is required.
