OMG! Ubuntu!

OMG! Ubuntu! is a Linux review blog that was launched in August 2009, that provides reviews, developments and updates AbOUT Ubuntu and its derivatives. The website is part of the Ohso Ltd Network. Its main focus is average Ubuntu users, rather than developers.

The site was registered on September 2, 2009, although it had existed prior to this date at another URL. Editor-in-Chief Joey-Elijah Sneddon reported in late May 2011 that OMG! Ubuntu! receives 3 million page views per month.

While initially based on Blogger, the site now employs WordPress blog software, with a custom theme designed by Ohso's co-owner and OMG! Ubuntu! writer Benjamin Humphrey and various custom built widgets and plugins.

Format

The site primarily provides blog-style updates about Ubuntu news as well as InterViews with key people in the Linux community, such as Jono BaCon, Linus Torvalds, and Jeff Waugh.

The site has a degree of integration with Ask Ubuntu, by including high-ranking questions and information from the site.

In April 2011, to celebrate the release of Ubuntu 11.04 and as a response to the confusion surrounding the introduction of the Unity interface, the site launched an interactive guide to help new users.

Other products

The OMG! Ubuntu! website has also released a commercial software game for the Ubuntu platform called Volley Brawl, available through the Ubuntu Software Centre.

A free Android application for viewing the website is available.
