Omar Kauser Malik

Omar Kauser Malik (born August 26, 1977) is an expert of Project Management (Biotech.), Agri-Biotech. Policy analyst, Commentator and Biotech management specialist based out of Lahore, Pakistan.

Personal life

Born in an old and well known family of Lahore, Omar is the son of a known scientist and educationist Kauser Abdulla Malik and educationist Tasneem Malik. OKM is married to Maryam Waheed, who is a business women and runs her own brand of Natural handmade products by the name of Marjees Soaps. They have two boys.

Education

Omar is a 1992 graduate of Beaconhouse School System-BSS in Pakistan. He did his intermediate(High school) in economics in 2005, his under-graduation in 1999 from Lahore and further education from UK in 2000. He has Undergone several advanced professional management courses (2001–2008) from the Lahore University of Management Sciences-LUMS, agri-biotech management courses as well as courses in Bio-safety from Pakistan and the USA between 2010 to 2013.

Career and Affiliations

Omar has been an integral part of change management, business process re-engineering, International business management and growth of several manufacturing and service sector organizations in and around Asia, especially in Pakistan, Bangladesh, SriLanka and the UK.Omar has also undergone several executive management/operational development courses in Pakistan and the USA while being part of the Co-founding team of one of the first Commercial Biotechnology Company based out of Pakistan in 2009.Omar Kauser Malik has served at several executive positions before becoming the CEO of ITTEHAD GROUP's company 'Ittehad Life Sciences-ILS', which manufactures veterinary Vaccine’s and other integral products relating to Biotechnology. Previously, Omar has worked as Regional Manager, Resident Director, Group Vice President and Country Head/Chief Operating Officer of well established and known business houses.Omar is a frequent visitor giving lecturers, training courses and presenting at conferences at home and around the globe. He is and has been representing the commercial Biotechnology/Agriculture sector on international policy making task-forces/committees. He is and has been a member of the National Experts Panel on Commercial Biotechnology of the government of Pakistan, Member of the National taskforce on BIO-Security/BIO-Safety of the Government of Pakistan as well as the Provincial Livestock Dairy Development Forum-PLDDF of the government of the Punjab.
