Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan

Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan is established in 19th day of September 2015, a society under Society Registration Act of Odisha. The General Body is the apex body of the Sangathan headed by Hon’ble Minister, School & Mass Education as Chairman & there is an Executive Body headed by DC-cum-ACS as Chairman.

Objective

Setting up of Model Schools – one in every Educationally Backward Blocks. Will have an infrastructure & facilities of the same standard as of Kendriya Vidyalayas. New Schools may be established or existing schools may be converted into Model schools. Model schools will have adequate ICT infrastructure, Internet connectivity and full time computer teachers. Model schools will have appropriate pace setting activities so that schools in the neighbourhood can benefit.

Vision

To provide a high quality English Medium School “Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya ” in each block headquarter across the State. It will have infrastructure and facilities as in a Kendriya Vidyalaya . Stipulations on pupil-teacher ratio, ICT usages, holistic educational environment, appropriate curriculum and emphasis on output and outcome. Classes will be from VI- XII having 02 Sections in each class. Schools will be affiliated to CBSE. These schools will be really a centre of excellence.

Progress

Model Schools sanctioned in 162 EBBs. 100 Model Schools operated during 2016-17 academic year. 60 More operated from 2017-18 TATA has agreed for construction of Model Schools in 30 non-EBBs, OMC has agreed for Model Schools in 25 non-EBBs & JINDAL in 10 non-EBBs. Corporate houses for rest 87 Blocks including 11 EBBs is under finalization.
