Nuestra Señora dela Candelaria Parish

Nuestra Señora dela Candelaria Parish is located in Lapu-Lapu St., Tacurong City province of Sultan Kudarat, Philippines.

During Oblato, priests and missionaries were active to established schools and churches. The Church and the Notre Dame of Tacurong College was concurrently established by Fr. Joseph Quinn, OMI in the month of April 30, 1950.

The development community will continue, so on February 1, 1952 was officially announced by Bishop Gerald Mongeau, OMI, DD the new parish of Nuestra Señora dela Candelaria, along with the blessing of the "cornerstone" that constructed a new Church which was held on the first mass as a sign and patron of the parish on February 2, 1952.

The Oblato is keen to lead the believers, because of rapid, growth, and expanded needs. Therefore, the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) was established by Fr. James Wynne OMI to be partners to promote the needs of the community. The duties of parish priests had become serious as childhood and school administrators and church in 1960.

In the year 1963, Fr. Nestor Factora, OMI was the first Philippine priest designated as "full time" parish priests. It was continued by Fr. Herminigildo Doronila OMI in the year 1968 and 1975. Fr. Elino Isip, OMI, founder of various organizations such as Knight of Columbus, CWL, Legion of Mary, Youth Organization and others. To be associated with community support.
