Northbrook Elementary

Northbrook Elementary was an elementary school located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was opened as a 10 room school in September of 1954 as a result of the growing student population in the north end of Dartmouth. It was one of the various schools within what was then known as the Dartmouth District School Board. It eventually became a member of what is now known as the Halifax Regional School Board. It was located on 2 Chapman Street, just off of Victoria Road. The School facilitated grades primary all the way through to grade six. It was the site of the very first congregated Special Education class in the City of Dartmouth which was implemented in 1958. Attached to the elementary is a community centre, which was added in 1977.

Unfortunately, due to the decision of the Halifax Regional School Board, Northbrook was officially shut down on July 31, 2002.
