Night of the jumps
The NIGHT of the JUMPs is an international series of freestyle motocross events, organized by the ifmxf.
The series, which is also holding the title of the official world championships of freestyle motocross (FMX), is touring worldwide and happened already in countries like Namibia, Brazil and Latvia.
Program
The event is splitted into the 3 disciplines Best Whip, Highest Air and Freestyle Motocross, judged by the difficulty of the performed tricks.
Freestyle Motocross elects the best rider according to the difficulty of the rider's performed tricks, which are jumped off from a jumpramp and landed on a dirt pile.
The jumps, which are often more than 10 meters (30f) high and 15 meters (45f) far, are performed in a spectacular way and feature trick performances like backflips and several figures with the motorcycle.
The Best Whip Contest is all AbOUT showing the best "whip". As "whip" is a move described, in which the motorbicycle is rotated to the side, so that it is standing crosswards to the flight's direction. The whip contest's winner is usually the rider, whose motorcycle made the hardest turn across to the flight direction, so whose bike has been "whipped" the most.
The Highest Air Contest, as the name says by itself, judges the highest air with the motorcycle. Usually the 10 meters (30 feet) mark is broken during this event.
