New Kingdoms was created by Stephen Urich, and is based loosely on Barren Realms Elite (BRE) and Solar Realms Elite (SRE), two online games which were widely played in the BBS days. The game is web-based a multiplayer strategy game in which each player controls a nation and attempts to grow their nation while fending off other nations.
