Neelam Pol

Neelam Pol is an entrepreneur and founder of Khel Planet Foundation which is an education social enterprise that nurtures 21st century life skills in children and prepares them to succeed. She currently lives in Mumbai.

Personal life

Pol was reborn with a right arm that was shorter than the left and had to struggle to pave her way.

Education

Pol is an engineering graduate in Computer Science & Technology from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University. She did her MBA in Business Administration and Management from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. She attained a master's degree in International Education Policy from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. She was awarded the Education Entrepreneurship Fellowship for Summer 2014.

Career

Pol started her career working at Infosys as a Software Engineer. From there she moved on to organizations like IBM and Tech Mahindra where she worked in business sales, marketing and operations manager before becoming an educationist. She spent time working at the grass root level in rural India with government schools and focused on school leadership.

In 2013, Pol co-founded Khel Planet Foundation which aims to help children develop their full potential. It is a non-profit organization.

She is currently an Education Consultant at The World Bank. With this, she is leading the on-ground implementation support for Government of Bihar's enhancing teachers' effectiveness project.

Pol is a practitioner of adaptive leadership and has been a leadership mentor to group of young graduates to help them become social change agents of tomorrow.
