Necronomicon (convention)

Necronomicon was a roleplaying convention, one of two run every year by Shadow Games Inc. It was originally held over the October long weekend, and lasts for three or four days. In 2000 it was moved to the Easter long weekend until 2006, its final year.

History

The first Necronomicon was held in 1989. The original vision for Necronomicon involved horror, darkness, angst and cathartic games, though it diverged from this in later years to a more generic platform.

Short Sharp Shocks

Designers wrote Short Sharp Shocks by invitation only, and this category was a chance to offer very scary or intense games that push BOUNDARIES (and which can consequently be disturbing, so they didn't recommend them for under-16s).

Convention

Necronomicon was GeneRally ran over three or four days (three before the move to Easter, four after), with registration usually on the night before the convention and prize giving in the afternoon of the last day. The convention was usually followed with a social gathering at a local bar in Newtown
