Nationwide funfair

The Nationwide Funfair are an experimental indie outfit from Hertfordshire, in the UK. The two prime members, James Child and Charlie Purdy are widely regarded as two of the most innovative musicians of their current generation.

History

The Nationwide Funfair first came into prominence with local media with their success at a local battle of the bands. At the time, the head judge was quoted as saying that it was 'audacious' for these two to have such a grasp of music at their age.

Pushing the BOUNDARIES of music further than perhaps has been seen before, Child and Purdy have been tipped by sources such as The New MusicAL Express and Q Magazine to hit the very top.

Rumours of a future collaboration with Quagmire guitarist Matt O'Neill are still unconfirmed.

Little is known AbOUT the members themselves, though they are rumoured to update their own MySpace.

Discography

On 10th July 2007, The Nationwide Funfair announced their new single, 'Return Of The Mig', set for worldwide release in both digital and physical formats.

Late August saw The Release of 'The Liberal Death of Thomas Timson', which charted highly in many countries, to Critical Acclaim.

The forthcoming album, rumoured to be self-titled, is due in December. The album is said to be a hybrid of Kid A and Zooropa, with music outlets such as NME claiming that they may have to rethink whether 10 is the maximum mark they can give to an album. Bill Smith from NME commented: 'It's a remarkable album. Considering they have no talent at all, it's remarkable.'

The latest news on the debut album is that it has in fact been delayed until early february , though details surrounding a new single, 'IWM Technology' are rumoured to be forthcoming.
