Myke Ikoku

Michael Obinna Ikemsinachi Chieze ikoku was born in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, south-south Nigeria. He had his primary education in six different south eastern schools being the son of a headmaster in St. Paul’s Primary School Owerri, from which he moved to Township School Owerri, and then to Ihite Ogada Primary School, Logara Mbaise Primary School and Amakohia Ubi Primary School. He then continued to the secondary level at Holy Ghost College Owerri and later Boys High School Nkwerre, also within the south east region of Nigeria.

He furthered his education at a university where he graduated successfully with a B.Sc in Sociology from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in the southwest region of Nigeria, and also studied public administration at the chartered institute of local government and public administration of Nigeria.

Career

Michael Ikoku, popularly known as Evangelist Myke Ikoku, is also an associate member of the chartered institute of local government and public administration of Nigeria. In 1992, he started his first business as an electrical and electronics distributor and manufacturer with the brand name OBIRON, with the Obiron electric iron known. He then ventured into food in 1994 with the brand called Obinaocha bread, which also was very popular in the south east region of Nigeria. Currently, he runs a hospitality, electrical and electronics, property, entertainment, oil and gas business.

Politics

He has been in the political business for a very long time aiding in creating youth awareness programs and creating jobs for many youth across the country. In 1999, he and other political figures in the Igbo dignitary supported the then president, Olusegun Obasanjo and PDP when the Igbos couldn't claim victory for the presidential seat.

In 2001, he declared that the Igbos themselves needed to unite if they needed to make a positive impact as he listed out ways to prove that the Ndigbo had a stake in Nigeria.

He wrote a letter to the then president, Obasanjo in April 2001, when the president visited Imo state, telling the president that the rural areas suffered behind in federal growth, declaring places that needed attention rather than seeking contract or national favours, he rather proclaimed the need of the people.

He would also appreciate and commend good works as he congratulated the president choice on police reformation in 1999 to make General David Jemibewon minister of police affairs

In 2003, he handed over management of his ALL SEASONS HOTEL OWERRI to Dr. Dan Akpabio, (Namet Hotels Abuja).

He also supports the return of president Goodluck jonathan for 2015 after which the east Must produce the next president after the second term of the south south people by jonathan Goodluck

In 2014, Michael Ikoku decided to participate in the electoral politics for the position of the federal house of representative under the A.P.G.A political party with hope to cause a reformation in Imo State.
