Muhammad Aamer (officer)
Lieutenant General Muhammad Aamer (born 25 June, 1968) is a retired three-star general of the Pakistan Army and currently serving as the Ambassador of Pakistan to the State of Qatar. He served as Commander of [...] Corps, Adjutant-General at the GHQ, and Military Secretary to the President of Pakistan.
Military career
Muhammad Aamer was commissioned into The Artillery Regiment in 1987.
From 2011 to 2013, he served as the Military Secretary to President Asif Ali Zardari.
He commanded the 10th Infantry Division in Lahore between 2017 and 2018 as a major general.
On 11 September 2019, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General and appointed as the Adjutant-General at GHQ.
In October 2021, Aamer took charge as the Commander of [...] Corps in Gujranwala.
Diplomatic career
Following retirement in 2023, he was first nominated as Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates in August 2024. However, in December 2024, the government reassigned him as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Qatar.
