Morris Brothers Band

The band blends alternative/classic rock, progressive/melodic rock and modern influences to form a very unique and distinguished sound.

They are very well known for their energitic live performances and passionate stage animation - which mixed with outstanding MusicAL ability is a show that should never go unsighted.

They have released three studio albums and one new EP to date of which have sold in their thousands. Quite an accomplishment considering they are still unsigned, though current negotiations with labels are in progress.

History

By early 2001 Jason Morris had been playing the electric guitar for many years, mainly as an intense hobby. During the spring of 2001 he had heard of local music festival 'Air Fusion' and was keen on setting up a band to perform there. With his brother Daniel Morris and his newly interest in the bass guitar he aqquired him with the intention of finding a drummer to complete the line-up. Richard Morris the father of both brothers had been working in a duo and knew of his sons interest to play at the festival and had contact with a drummer friend. They rehearsed busily for 6 weeks prior to the event and stormed onto the scene clinching front page of their local news paper. Since then they obtained numerous gigs on the local music scene, gigging intensly on the Torbay circuit, playing pubs and clubs.

They have supported some notable acts, including Johnny Winter in April 2007.

Playing popular music venues on the underground music scene is something the band has become akin to, including Mansfields Intake Club.

The band have also performed at Teign-school in Teignbridge, Devon on behalf of a registered charity in aid of encouraging music performance among youngsters.

Aswell as performing at Plymouth Aid Day - a fund raising appeal on behalf of the 2005 Tsunami.

They have performed at many festivals, including South-Wales Monmouth Festival in 2005.

In 2002 'Whats On Southwest' magazine said from a local gig in Paignton that -

By 2003, Jason Morris entered a nation-wide competition for the UK's GUITARIST OF THE YEAR, he submitted an audition CD with the track 'the Hero' - which is currently available on the album 'Finding Utopia' and went straight through to the final at Birmingham's NEC Arena. Performing along with 4 other finalists in front of an audience of press and judges he won with great ease.
