Moonlight & Magic (film)

Moonlight & Magic is a 2007 black comedy film written and directed by Timothy Spanos.

The film is a story AbOUT a mohawk and a diabetic on the run from the law, who journey across Australia's high country in an orange kombi in search for a home they can call their own. Along the way they meet a variety of oddball characters including a brain damaged nudist, a breast cancer survivor and a knife wielding juvenile delinquent. The films stars Tim Burns, Maxine Klibingaitis and Elspeth Ballantyne. Indigenous artist Clinton Nain appears throughout the film as a spirit guide who aids the duo on their journey. The film was shot on location in the Dandenong ranges and in Coronet Bay, Victoria. It is an unofficial prequel to the 2006 film Nancy Nancy.

Moonlight & Magic screened at the 2007 Atlanta Underground Film Festival where it won Best Comedy Feature. Maxine Klibingaitis was awarded the Best Supporting Female Actor in 2007 at The Melbourne Undergorund Film Festival. The film continues to screen throughout the USA at cult movie houses.
