Mohsen Siyar
Mohsen Siyar (born 1997), also known as Mohsen Mansour Siyar, is an Iranian-born freestyle wrestler competing for Germany. Competing in the 125 kg weight class, Siyar won the bronze medal at the 2026 European Wrestling Championships.
Career
Siyar won the gold medal in the juniors' +80 kg event at the 2016 World Beach Wrestling Championships while representing Iran.
He later began competing for Germany and represented ASV Schorndorf at club level. In 2025, while representing ASV Schorndorf, he became German champion in the men's freestyle 125 kg event. The same year, he won the gold medal in the men's freestyle 125 kg event at the 2025 Yaşar Doğu Tournament in Kocaeli, Turkey. He also won the bronze medal at the Wacław Ziółkowski Memorial tournament in Warsaw.
At the 2025 European Wrestling Championships, Siyar finished tenth in the 125 kg event. He drew 8–8 with Zelimkhan Khizriev, who competed for United World Wrestling, but lost on criteria and was eliminated. At the 2025 World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, he finished seventh in the men's freestyle 125 kg event. He defeated Brazil's Gabriel De Sousa Silva 12–2 by technical superiority in the qualification round and Mongolia's Mönkhtöriin Lkhagvagerel 5–2 in the round of 16, before losing 6–3 to Poland's Robert Baran in the quarter-finals.
At the 2026 European Wrestling Championships held in Tirana, Albania, Siyar won the bronze medal in the men's freestyle 125 kg event. He defeated Romania's Omar Sarem 4–0 in the round of 16 and Austria's Johannes Ludescher 4–0 in the quarter-finals to reach the semi-finals. After losing 4–3 to Vladislav Baitcaev, who represented Slovakia, Siyar defeated Azamat Khosonov of Greece 2–1 in the bronze-medal match to finish third in Europe.
