Mohamed Malimey (, ) (born 1979 or 1980) is a Somali football coach and former player. As of 2010, he served as an assistant coach at Sport Club Internacional in the Brazilian First Division.

Biography

Malimey was born in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

He began his career in amateur football in 2006. Two years later, Malimey entered the semi-professional ranks when he joined Lewisham Borough F.C. in England. There, he received the training that enabled him to play for a variety of English clubs.

Malimey subsequently pursued a career as a professional football coach. In 2007, he worked as an Assistant Head Coach with Lewisham FC, and joined the London Football Coaches Association (LFCA). In the 2008-09 season, he served as Head Coach of the club's first team.

In October 2009, Malimey earned a 'B' Diploma from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). He then received further training in the basic English soccer academies.

Malimey later moved to Porto Alegre, Brazil in 2010 to begin a three-month coaching internship with the Sport Club Internacional (Inter) at the club's main Beira-Rio facility. He obtained the position after a year's worth of negotiations with the team's management. Malimey had the option of interning at the Turkish club Fenerbahçe, but chose instead to work with Inter so as to familiarize himself with the training strategies and techniques employed in Brazilian football. At Inter, Malimey trained under coach Jorge Fossati, where he learned tactical and technical methods used by both the club's professional staff and lower divisions (Inter B, junior, juvenile, child).
