Model Citizen is the name of the debut EP of the Nigerian born American based singer, songwriter Nenna Yvonne on March 1, 2010 under the indipendent label Victorian Music Group.
Background
Model Citizen is a representation to reinvent their American dream, and express their own personality and all the things that make you happy according on what Nenna Yvonne said during the presentation of the EP. Nenna Yvonne recorded the EP in 2009 when she met her producer, mentor and manager Daniel "IAMDTOX" Wisniewski. The EP was anticipated by the single Some Girls who was submitted to the MySpace Rock the Space Toyota competition sponsored by Fender and MySpace Records—it was selected as a Top 10 finalist out of 28,000 submissions. All the 6 track that are in the EP are written by Nenna, who also co-produced some of them. The title track Model Citizen were used for an episode of MTV series The City. In this EP Nenna got the chance to duet with Havoc of Mobb Deep and work with producer as RIZ who worked with Akon and Space Cowboy who produced songs for Lady GaGa. The EP was distribuited under the indipendent label Victorian Music Group worldwide, receving a lot of success which led Nenna Yvonne to relocate from New York City to Los Angeles where she signed with Interscope Records for six figures, and gave her a chance to do a tour in Japan, as well as to pose for magazines as Billboard Magazine who called Nenna African Lady Gaga while MTV defined her The New Glam Pop Diva.
Critical reception
Thanks to the promotion by all digital platforms and social networks The debut EP received a lot of success, thanks by the 2,238,480 plays on Myspace and 3.5 Million views on her website, with that Nenna became star of the internet and take Nenna to move on Los Angeles.
