MK Systems

M/K Systems is a Massachusetts based company founded in 1969 by the late Dr. Otto Kallmes and Dr. David Most. The company develops, designs, and sells equipment for the paper industry, nonwovens industry, universities, as well as research laboratories. History of the company: Dr. Kallmes began working at a paper mill as a co-op student while studying chemical engineering at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Later, he attended the School of Paper Science (IPST) in Wisconsin to earn his PhD, and from there entered the paper industry. He learned there was a great need for understanding the structure paper, but there was not much equipment available. During his research at IPST he developed a method of studying the uniformity (formation) of paper. Kallmes began developing equipment in the late 1960s, and along with his partner David Most, soon began creating novel equipment, including moisture meters, laboratory digesters, formation testers, and absorption testers. Later, the company developed a fully automatic, computer based paper sheet former. Today, the equipment is state-of-the-art, has a 41 year perfect safety record for its devices and has earned both international CE compliance as well as comply with (American) ASME standards. MK Systems supports both USA and international clients with the help of its representatives.
