MITIS Basketball Team

MITIS Basketball Team, dubbed as MITIS Tigers, is a basketball club of MIT International School. It is founded in 2010 by Christopher Buhain, the head athletic coach of the school. They did not join any leagues in the Philippines. However, they joined mini-tournaments across Muntinlupa City. By June 2011, MITIS Tigers will join a basketball league for international schools.

History

In August 2010, the school announced that they're going to have a basketball club under Christopher Buhain. Buhain played in tourneys in America before and has a tremendous experience in basketball. Later, the team was sponsored by Tradewell Company for their jerseys. Today, the basketball team is still ACTIVE and practicing for the upcoming basketball league of international schools in the summer of 2011.

Training

MITIS Tigers trains from Monday to Thursday every week. They hold practices at Tierra Nueva basketball court. The MITIS Tigers has been rigorously training under the American style of play under Coach Buhain.

Reinforcements

Before the 2010 ends, only 8 students actively joining the club. After few months, Buhain recruited more students to make it a solid team, including a Grade 5 student. He also recruited big guys for rebounding, muscles in the paint and for setting picks. To date, the team consists of 12 students, enough for a good rotation.
