Mister Valentine
Mister Valentine was an indie, screamo, rock band from San Diego, California. The band formed in 2002, when members guitarist/vocalist, Brian Warren (from Weatherbox), guitarist, George Pritzker (from Japandi), drummer, Marc Deriso (from Japandi, Snuffaluffagus, ex-drummer for Weatherbox), vocalist, John Robert Moore, and bassist, Seth Kramer began playing together when they were still in high school. They quickly released their first demo, entitled "Keep Your Fork, Here's Mister Valentine." One of the songs released on this EP was interestingly called "Weatherbox Is Dead." After a year or so, Seth was replaced by bassist, Andy Seymore (current guitarist in Japandi) who played in the band for AbOUT a year. The band played many shows and began garnering a local following.
In early 2004, the band recorded their first EP entitled "The Whites of their Eyes" on Give Up Your Ghost Records. Right after, Seymore left the band and was replaced with Jeff Stryker (who currently plays bass for Japandi). The band played many shows that year and their following began to grow more and more.
In the summer of 2004, the band unfortunately broke up, when Warren chose to join the band My American Heart. Soon after the breakup, the other band members, including Seymore, began playing together and soon formed a progressive, instrumental post-rock band, called Japandi. Brian Warren left My American Heart shortly after and formed the band Weatherbox who are currently signed to Doghouse Records.
Recently, in 2007, Doghouse Records digitally remastered "The Whites of their Eyes" and re-released it under their label.
