Miss World Continental Groups

In 2005, a new system of choosing semi-finalists and finalists for The Title of Miss World was introduced. Candidates were divided into six groups, based on their continental regions. Two delegates from each continental regions were chosen as semi-finalists, one being the voters' choice, the other being the judges'. Additionally, winners of Fast Track events (Beach Beauty, Miss Sport, Miss Talent & Beauty with a Purpose) are automatic semi-finalists. For example, if all the winners of the fast track events were from Northern Europe, there will be six semi-finalists from that particular region.

One delegate from each regions' semi-finalists will be declared as its Continental Queen, and automatically is a finalist. From the six finalists, two will be runners-up, and one will be Miss World.

Northern Europe is currently the most successful Continental Group, producing two Miss World.

¹Kazakhstan, a country located in Northern Asia, is designated into the Northern Europe group.

²Israel and Lebanon, countries located in Asia, are designated into the Southern Europe group.

³The countries of Montenegro and Serbia competed for the last time as one country in 2005 (as Serbia & Montenegro).

⁴Turkey, a Eurasian country, is designated into the Southern Europe group. Russia, a Eurasian country as well, but it is designated into Northern Europe group.

⁵Crotia (1993, 1994, 1995), Greece (1996), and Italy (2000). They represented Europe as one Region. Italy represented Southern Europe group in 2005. These three countries are designated to Southern Europe group

⁶In Miss World 2007, Sweden, represented Europe as one region. This also happend to Finland (1982), Iceland (1985, 1988), Denmark (1986), Austria (1987), Poland (1989, 2004), and Ireland (1990). Although Iceland represented Northern Europe group in 2005. This all countries now belongs to Northern Europe group.
